Lesson 11 QUIZ Answers

Submodule 11

Here you will find the answers to the first three Questions.

1. What is meant by Annihilation? What is Fear of Annihilation? What is Fear of the Fear of Annihilation?

Annihilation is a concept used in the Sense of Self Method, to indicate a strong feeling of being overlooked, not seen, heard, accounted for, or having no effect on others in the world. Fear of Annihilation is fear of being unheard by and invisible to others.

Fear of Annihilation is a process that takes place deep within your psyche. Fear of the Fear of Annihilation is anxiety to the max caused by the absence of a Sense of Self plus the accompanying dependency on outside approval and validation. This feeling moves us into action to restore our SUBSTITUTE Sense of Self. (Note: not our Real Self!)

It often pops up just when we think we have things under control for scoring a Substitute SoS. Consider it an act of self-sabotage, it sabotages our Substitute-oriented achievements and forces us to zoom in on Why we do what we do (our motivation). This way Nature gives us a chance to kick our Substitute Sense of Self out of our system, in favor of our Real Self! It makes us see that we have to shift from being indirectly motivated to being directly motivated!

2. What is re-conditioning? What re-conditioning tools do you have to work with now?

To recondition yourself is to teach yourself how to live according to your best interest, but this time based on your very own opinion. It is a process of rewiring old habits and thoughts with new insights that help you experience more well-being and authenticity in your life. It is a long journey of establishing newly gained insights into your awareness and repeating the resulting new behaviors until they become second nature.

Tools:

  • The Twelve Self-Assessment Statements along with the Twelve Reconditioning Statements.
  • The Magic Formula.
  • Feeling your feet and concluding that you really exist as your own person, yourself.
  • Lovingly pronounce your own name and other affirmations.
  • Dismantling the Fear of Annihilation.
  • How did Erika deal with her relapse? Take the example from the lesson and apply it to yourself, undermining the arguments of your former addiction to approval one by one.
  • Use the Emergency Formula to see where you are on the ladder, zero and up meaning having a “need-for-approval” free life.

3. The Reconditioning process is painfully slow at times. What can you compare it to?

I can compare this process of reconditioning myself to the gestation period of something being born in nature. In terms of duration, it’s comparable to the time it takes for a plant to grow from a seed to a flower or tree.
