Introduction & Syllabus

The ability to sense yourself is an important skill to have if you want to live your life as the healthy, happy person you know you can be.

Module 1 Understanding “Who am I?”

Not knowing the answer to the question “Who am I?” can make us feel lost in life.

Module 1: Understanding Who I am

Lesson 1 – Why do you do the things you do?

This lesson focuses on how to get to the root of your behavior and explains why it is important. You can solve many, if not all, of your life issues when you know why you make certain choices and decisions. Getting to the root of why you do what you do is especially useful for people who feel they are unable to live life to to the fullest.

Lesson 2 – Whose life is it anyway?

Being born doesn’t come with a guarantee that you get to live an authentic life, even though it is your birthright. In this lesson, you’ll be able to decipher whether or not you have a healthy Sense of Self. Are you still struggling to live your life in an authentic way?

Lesson 3 – Your past shapes your present. Is your present good enough to shape your future?

Changing how your present unfolds, starts with looking back at what you experienced during childhood. The early relationship with your parents and/or caregivers affects how you relate to yourself on a subconscious level. This relationship is also responsible for what you find important, what you want, and what you do with your life.

Module 2: Understanding the Substitutions of Self

Your Sense of Self is what informs your personal preferences and tastes, but addiction to approval can overshadow your true desires.

Module 2: Understanding The Substitutions Of Self

Lesson 4 – Thoughts are seldom what they seem.

This lesson introduces two types of motivation: Direct and Indirect. Understanding your motivation requires awareness of what is going on in your subconscious mind. Discerning which kind of motivation is driving your behavior is the key to self-knowledge, to healing a Lack of Sense of Self, and to gaining a Restored Sense of Self.

Lesson 5 – Are you using your life to prove to others that you're worthy?

When you are unable to develop a healthy Sense of your Self, you adopt behaviors that are geared toward gaining acceptance from people you believe you need approval from. In this lesson, two new key concepts, Ego-references and Vehicles, will help you discover how your past is influencing your present.

Lesson 6 – Why do you feel the need to feel good about yourself at all costs? 

In this lesson, we investigate what drives you to crave approval and introduces the processes that contribute to the subconscious drama that plays out for those with a Lack of Sense of Self. Learn to shift from focusing on others’ approval to focusing on what YOU want your life to be, based on your own conscious decisions.

Module 3: Outgrowing the Need for Approval

For many of us, the expectations of our primary caregiver(s) still have a major impact on our lives. Such coloring is normal and healthy to the extent that their opinions provide us with the necessary life skills.

What does NOT need to stay is the residue of their difficulties with their own Sense of Self.

When caregivers' expectations determine our life choices, it's time to wonder what's going on. We all need validation but to what extent?

By making sure we restore or strengthen our Sense of Self, we can break the cycle and free ourselves from the need for approval, which can easily become an addiction.

Lesson 7 – "Will I ever outgrow the need for approval?"

Unit 3:

In this lesson, we delve deeper into the role parental judgment can play in your life. Ideally, your caregivers opinions shouldn't linger in your mind and body once you have grown to be an adult.

You will learn about the possible entanglement of caregiver and child, which puts you at risk for a lifetime of emotional exhaustion and suffering.

Lesson 8 – Do you ever feel invisible?

Building on what you have learned so far, you may discover that you have unconsciously created a substitute for experiencing life as you true self.

Living with a Substitute Sense of Self is what makes you feel invisible. This lesson poses the questions: Do you prioritize your personal happiness enough or are you more concerned with the happiness of others?

Lesson 9 – Live the Life You Love

This lesson leads you back through each of the Sense of Self concepts, giving you the opportunity to dive even deeper and explore how they may apply to you and your quest. Once you understand how these concepts relate to you, you will be able to break free from your addiction to approval, make lasting changes, and live the life you love.

Module 4: Recovery from a Lack of Sense of Self

This section teaches you step by step how to heal from a deficiency of self-awareness (Lack of Sense of Self), restore, and integrate a Healthy Sense of Self, even if you don't have the faintest idea where to start.Unit 4: Recovery

Lesson 10 – Finding Your Stride Step by Step

Did you know that your experience is a reflection of what you focus on? In this lesson, you are challenged to change your focus from what happens in the world around you, to fine-tuning your introspection. Your starting point will be directing your attention to what is most obvious to yourself: your body. Awareness exercises and self-assessment tools are included in this lesson.

Lesson 11 – Sometimes Your Sense of Self Is There and Sometimes It Disappears into Thin Air

This lesson is about the Fear of Annihilation and what you can do to free yourself from its grip. Since you have been focused on the outside world so long, you will learn how to stay consistent in bringing your focus back to your body by creating reminders for yourself.  This lesson includes examples and exercises—including the Emergency Formula—for when you need self-awareness most!

Lesson 12 – I Am Ready to Contribute to a Healthy Community

Looking at the bigger picture of human life is needed to cultivate more self-awareness. In this lesson, you'll ponder your position in this life and begin to recognize the ultimate agony that could occur if you fail to live as your authentic self. Love and compassion for others starts with self-love and self-acceptance, which leads to healthy, interdependent communities.

In the bonus lesson, we venture out of our thinking mind and open the door to a new pathway—living from the heart. Equipped with what it means to live with a Healthy Sense of Self, you are now ready to fully trust yourself to take a more intuitive approach to life. To further your growth, this lesson invites you to explore other methods of self-discovery such as spirituality and/or non-ordinary states of consciousness.
